Dear best friend,
I know I’m a few days early, but that’s okay. Maybe you’ve totally forgot, but I sure as heck didn’t. Do you know what I’m even talking about? Well, I’m talking about June 5th. Do you remember what that was? June 5th was the day we met. June 5th was the day, my life was changed; for the better. I met the person who makes my life worth something. I met my best friend. She has made everything I do, seem like it’s right.
Before I met you, I was just your average girl. Not really shy (although, that’s what I want to say), but innocent. I was just someone who liked to play sports. Then you came into my life, and I realized what a true friendship was like. I met the girl, who I wish to have standing beside me when I get married. The girl who has been through everything with me. The girl who tells me everything is okay, and I will get through it. The girl who was willing to come to Quebec to kick the ass of the boy who hurt me. I met my best friend. I met my sister.
Janessa, you have been through everything with me. Even though we don’t get to see each other near as much as I’d like, I see you enough! Because whenever we’re together, it feels like we’ve been with each other the whole time, even when we’re apart. I can tell you ANYTHING and know that you won’t judge me on it, I can trust you’ll be there for support. You’ve been with me through the good decisions and through the bad ones. You’re basically the reason I keep looking forward to the next weekend, in hopes I get to see my best friend again.
You, Janessa, are the reason why I have such good self esteem. You always are saying how inspiring I am. You are the reason I still want to make a difference in someone’s life, because you made a difference in mine. You have showed me what true friends are and how someone should be treated. You have made me a better person.
This is just a little something for our 2 year “friend-a-versary”… I’m sorry, I will never say that word again. That’s embarassing.. I look forward to having you by my side for the rest of my life.
I love you so much.
